Mixing your own fertilizer

Hi Jim and Group,

I've been thinking of following the instructions for making my own
fertilizer. I'm not sure weather I will get everything locally, and
mix it myself, or just get the major ones, and add it to micro mix...
but I have a question. There are only 12 ingerdients on the list,
but on the website for the micro mix, it indicates there are 13...
Which one am I missing?

Here's the list of 12 ingredients:
· Calcium Nitrate—CaNO3 10 pounds
· Ammonium Nitrate—AmNO3 (34-0-0) 3 pounds 8 ounces
· Phosphorus—P (0-45-0) 3 pounds 12 ounces
· Magnesium Sulfate—MgSO4 (Epsom Salt) 2 pounds 12 ounces
· Potassium—K (0-0-60) 4 pounds 12 ounces
· Boron—B (Borax) 3 ounces
· Manganese—MnSO4 2 ounces
· Zinc—ZnSO4 3 ounces
· Iron(Fe) Chelate #330 ½ ounce
· Copper Sulfate—CuSO4 ¼ ounce
· Molybdenum—Mo ¼ ounce
· Gypsum—CaSO4 1 pound

Can you tell me what is included in the micro mix, so I can see what
would be left if I go that way? Also, is Gypsum the same as
Dolomite Lime? They sell lime everywhere near me, but I've never
seen gypsum. We get more than 20" of rain a year, so I'm using the
dolomite lime for my pre-plant mix.

Thanks for the help!

The 13th ingredient is chloride, and it is almost always included in at least one of the other ingredients, so we don't include it separately. Don't worry about chloride.

The last 6 ingredients you've listed above are included in the Micro-Mix.

Gypsum is CaSO4, as you've listed above. Dolomite lime has no sulfur in it, but it does have magnesium along with the lime (calcium).

You should use lime or dolomite lime when you have more than 20" of rain per year.
