What plants to start from seeds

This is the first year that I am trying seeds. Do i plant everything
from seeds in my house frist and then transplant out into my garden? Or
are there some plants that do better being planted directly into the
ground. I have always planted starts from the nursey.
Thanks,
Natasha

Some plants are better to grow from seed in your garden, including beets, spinach, swiss chard, carrots, radishes, etc.

Some are optional, but using seedlings for many of your garden plants, especially the ones with high production value, can increase your yield substantially. Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, squash, melons, etc. come to mind
